First meeting of the year.  We will be working on fur, feathers and ferns.  Neil's dad will be teaching the boys about gardening and composting.  After that, I will be going over with them worm farming and we'll be building a few worm farms for the den to use later in the year.

It is POPCORN SELLING TIME! 

Sign-up to participate in Pack 142's Show & Sells beginning Friday, August 31, 2018. See the event listings on our calendar for more information.

Individual "take order" sales begin on Saturday, September 8, 2018 – We will be holding an official kickoff on September 13, 2018 at our September Pack Meeting. All take orders are due by Thursday, October 18, 2018. We will be at Littleton School between 6:30PM and 8:30PM on October 18 to collect the forms.

If you are unable to submit your form by October 18, you must contact our Popcorn Kernel, Yohanny via email [email protected] OR phone 973-908-1085 to make alternate arrangements.

In an effort to make it easier to identify who is able to attend during each slot, we are using Sign Up Genius to collect registration information.

We do not expect every scout to attend each fundraising event. It is important we all work together to ensure each scout receives an equal opportunity to help raise funds for our pack.

1. To support scouting. 70% of the money collected goes straight to local scouting.
2. To earn money for your scout account with the pack to help make scouting more affordable for your family.

1. All scouts who participate in sales will earn a 2018 Popcorn Sales Patch
2. Scouts selling $115 or more will win a prize from CampMasters
3. Scouts selling $750 or more, get all of the above, AND they join the $750 Club winning an additional prize and $25 scout bucks
4. Scouts selling $1600 or more, get all of the above, AND a Free Week of Summer Camp at any of the PPC owned camps.
5. If your scout is one of the TOP 100 sellers in all of PPC, they will also be eligible for special Top 100 Club offers from PPC
6. Above and Beyond – Additional Prize: Sell over $6,000 and receive a $150 Gift Card or $150 Camp Scholarship; Sell over $6,500 and receive a $250 Gift Card or $250 Camp Scholarship; or Sell over $7,000 and receive a $350 Gift Card or $350 Camp Scholarship

Apple Picking & Hay Ride @ Riamede Farm

We are looking forward to welcoming some new families and visitors that are interested in finding out more about Pack 142 to our Apple Picking and Hay Ride event.
You are welcome to invite any friends and families with boys that are Cub Scout age (grades K-5). Please be sure to RSVP to let us know you are coming and how many guests to expect.

If one or more friends of your Cub Scout join our pack, your Cub Scout and all new friends that they recruit will receive a “My Best Friend is a Scout” patch. Your Cub Scout will also be presented with a “Recruiter” patch.

Fall Camping Trip @ Great Divide Campground

Please join Pack 142 at our Fall Campout!

Event Date: Saturday, September 29, 2018 – Sunday, September 30, 2018
Event Time: 2:00PM – 10:30AM
Event Location: Great Divide Campground – 68 Phillips Road, Newton, NJ 07860
Dress Requirements: Pack T-Shirt and Camping Gear
Cost: $20 per participant (to assist the pack with costs for food and the campsite)

Pack 142 will provide dinner, breakfast and some amazing fun! We ask that families bring tents, sleeping bags and a side dish for dinner.

Attending a campout will help your scout get a jump start on their requirements! We cover several requirements, including fire building and cooking. Many ranks require at least one campout, and this is a great opportunity to tick off that requirement!

Our Webelo and AOL dens have planned the menu and we are pleased to announce they have chosen:

Families will bring their own bag lunch if arriving early.

Dinner

  • Tacos / Cheese Quesadillas
  • Stuffed Bananas for Dessert

Breakfast

  • Donuts, Bagels and Fruit
Campsite registration opens at 12:00PM on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Those who would like to arrive earlier and participate in the activities that are provided by the Great Divide Campground can arrive as early as 9:00AM, however there is an additional cost of $5 per person that is payable directly to the campground on arrival.

Pack 142 planned activities will begin shortly after 2:00PM
and will include fun Fall activities and a hike!
