Please join Pack 142 in collecting toys for underprivleged kids for Toys for Tots. This is a fantastic way for your scout to earn service hours (required for each rank) and to learn the importance of giving.

Popcorn has arrived! Please come pick up your popcorn tomorrow (Sunday, Nov 17th) at Steve's house, located at 8 Highland Ct. Morris Plains, NJ from 4:15pm to 6:15pm. This won't be the only chance to take delivery of your popcorn; we'll plan another session as needed.

Community Service is a big part of scouting. Please help St. Christopher's collect food outside mass with Troop 173. Scouts will then work together to sort and box food for delivery.

Sorry for the late notice, but this day just opened up for me. We'll be wrapping up our physical fitness requirement, retesting in various activities so hopefully the boys have been practicing their improvement plan.

The Mount Tabor Historical Society will kindly give us a tour of a museum and Tabernacle in Mount Tabor. The Tabernacle was once used for religious purposes but is now mainly used for entertainment.

Tabernacle is upstairs from the post office. Entrance around back.
Bethel is the third house on the right of Post office up the path, no cars allowed
Museum is the 4th house on the right of Post office up the path. We will meet outside of Museum at 2:30
We will be covering the "Duty to God Footsteps" requirement.
in order to complete this requirement. There are some steps that will be done on their own with family and some with the den.
As follows:
Step 1. (on own with family) Discuss w/ parent, guardian, or caring adult what it means to do your duty to God. Tell how to do your duty to God in your daily life.
Step 4. (with den) Read a story about people or groups who came to America to enjoy religious freedom.
I have a children's book called Coming To America… It touches on different reasons why people came to America. Not religion specific but mentions different cultures and reasons.
Step 6. Visit a religious site and create visual display on how it made you understand. "Tabernacle"
