Fall Camping Trip @ Great Divide Campground

Please join Pack 142 at our Fall Campout!

Event Date: Saturday, October 7, 2017 – Sunday, October 8, 2017
Event Time: 2:00PM – 10:30AM
Event Location: Great Divide Campground – 68 Phillips Road, Newton, NJ 07860
Dress Requirements: Pack T-Shirt and Camping Gear
Cost: $12 per participant (to assist the pack with costs for food and the campsite)

Pack 142 will provide dinner, breakfast and some amazing fun! We ask that families bring tents, sleeping bags and a side dish for dinner.

Group Camping Supplies

We are in need of volunteers to bring some additional camping supplies. Please click here to view a list of needs and let us know if you are able to help out!

If you have any special dietary requirements, be sure to email [email protected] by Wednesday, October 4, 2017 so that we are able to accommodate your request. Our meal menu is as follows:

Lunch
Families will bring their own bag lunch if arriving early.

Dinner

  • Hamburgers and Hot Dogs
  • Selection of side dishes (provided by families)
  • Marshmallow Cones

Breakfast

  • Omelet in the bag (Eggs, Ham, Peppers, Cheese, etc.)
  • Bagels with cream cheese, butter, etc (small selection for those who need to depart early)
  • Go-Gurt Yogurt (small selection for those who need to depart early)
Campsite registration opens at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Those who would like to arrive earlier and participate in the activities that are provided by the Great Divide Campground can arrive as early as 9:00AM, however there is an additional cost of $5 per person that is payable directly to the campground on arrival.

Activities that are provided by the campground are as follows:

  • 9:00AM – Open Archery (7yrs and older)
  • 10:00AM – Crafts @ pavilion
  • 11:00AM – Nature w/ Jess @ pavilion
  • 1:00PM – Beading @ pavilion
  • 3:00PM – Hayrides from pavilion
Pack 142 planned activities will begin shortly after 2:00PM
and will include fun Fall activities and a hike!
  
 
Please RSVP via TroopTrack or email to [email protected] by Saturday, September 23, 2017 so that we are able to provide the Great Divide Campground with a final count of those who will attend.

Rocket into Scouting @ Knoll Park in Parsippany

Rocket into Scouting!

This is a Join Cub Scouting Event.  It is free for boys who have joined a pack this fall (or bring a completed application form to the event).

Current Cub Scouts can attend for free if they bring along a Cub Scout age friend who wants to join their pack.

Participants will build and launch a model rocket.  For additional launches, we will have engines for sale at $3.00 each.  Please do not bring engines since we must be sure they are correct size.

Saturday, October 14th from noon to 4:00 pm at Knoll Park in Parsippany.

In an effort to make it easier to identify who is able to attend during each slot, we are using Sign Up Genius to collect registration information.

We do not expect every scout to attend each fundraising event. It is important we all work together to ensure each scout receives an equal opportunity to help raise funds for our pack.

1. To support scouting. 70% of the money collected goes straight to local scouting.
2. To earn money for your scout account with the pack to help make scouting more affordable for your family.
3. To win GREAT PRIZES.

Prizes? What Prizes?
1. All scouts who participate in sales will earn a 2017 Popcorn Super Hero patch
2. Scouts selling $125 or more will win a prize from CampMasters
3. Scouts selling $750 or more, get all of the above, AND they join the $750 Club winning an additional prize and $25 scout bucks
4. Scouts selling $1500 or more, get all of the above, AND a Free Week of Summer Camp at any of the PPC owned camps
6. If your scout is one of the TOP 100 sellers in all of PPC, he will also be eligible for special Top 100 Club offers from PPC.

October Pack Meeting @ Glacier Hills Association

Please join Pack 142 at our October Pack Meeting

Our October pack meeting has a Halloween theme! We have many exciting Halloween activities planned and hope that you can join us! If possible, scouts and their youth guests should come in the Halloween costume!
Highlights include:
-Halloween activities
– Popcorn Fundraiser forms due
Parent Volunteers
October's Pack Meeting will be a fun-filled night for our boys. Pack 142, along with Pack 5 and Troop 173, will be playing games and winning prizes. We are asking for some creative minds to help us create five fun games for the children to play. The games can be as elaborate or simple as you like.  It's up to you.

Used Halloween Costume Donation
Pack 142 is helping Family Promise & Deirdre's House in Morristown to collect pre-loved Halloween costumes that are in good condition. Costumes that we collect will be donated to families in our community that are unable to provide their children with a Halloween costume. Please bring all costumes to the pack meeting. Thank you for your support!

We are look forward to welcoming some new families and visitors that are interested in finding out more about Pack 142 to all of our meetings. You are welcome to invite any friends and families with boys that are Cub Scout age (grades K-5). Please be sure to RSVP to let us know you are coming and how many guests to expect.

 
If one or more friends of your Cub Scout join our pack, your Cub Scout and all new friends that they recruit will receive a “My Best Friend is a Scout” patch. Your Cub Scout will also be presented with a “Recruiter” patch.
