Tiger Den Meeting @ Little School Gym

October Den Meeting – We will work on our Bobcat Requirement’s.  Prior to the meeting, parents should review the scouting pamphlet, How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide.  Parents should complete the exercises in the pamphlet with their son.

Fall Camping Trip @ Great Divide Campground

Please join Pack 142 at our Fall Campout!

Event Date: Saturday, October 8, 2016 – Sunday, October 9, 2016
Event Time: 2:00PM – 10:30AM
Event Location: Great Divide Campground – 68 Phillips Road, Newton, NJ 07860
Dress Requirements: Pack T-Shirt and Camping Gear
Cost: $10 per participant (to assist the pack with costs for food and the campsite)
 
Campsite registration opens at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 9, 2016. Those who would like to arrive earlier and participate in the activities that are provided by the Great Divide Campground can arrive as early as 9:00AM, however there is an additional cost of $5 per person that is payable directly to the campground on arrival. 
 
Activities that are provided by the campground on Saturday, October 8, 2016 are as follows:
9:00AM, 10:00AM, 11:00AM: Nature with Jess – Meet @ Pavilion
10:00AM: Crafts @ Barn
1:00PM: Beading @ Barn
3:30PM: Final Hayride @ Pavilion
 
Pack 142 planned activities will begin shortly after 2:00PM
and will include fishing and a hike!
 
Pack 142 has reserved the following campsites G8, G9, G10, G11, G14 and G15 and have the option to reserve additional if additional space is needed. Please click here to view the campground map. The “G Section” is in the top left-hand corner of the map.
 
 
Pack 142 will provide dinner, breakfast and some amazing fun! 
We ask that families bring tents, sleeping bags and a side dish or dessert for dinner.
Those who would like to go fishing should also bring a fishing rod.
If you have any special dietary requirements, be sure to email [email protected]
by Wednesday, October 5, 2016 so that we are able to accommodate your request.
 
We appreciate that families have busy schedules and would like to accommodate as much as possible. If you are not able to join us overnight, we would still like to welcome you for our afternoon and evening activities on Saturday, October 8. Please email [email protected] or phone 973-437-6163 to let us know if you fall into this category.
 
Please RSVP via TroopTrack or email to [email protected] by Monday, October 3, 2016 so that we are able to provide the Great Divide Campground with a final count of those who will attend.

Troop 72 invites the Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts to attend our October 12th Troop Meeting, where we will be teaching the First Responder Award to any interested Packs in Parsippany.

​In an effort to make it easier to identify who is able to attend during each slot, three different events have been created. Please indicate your attendance for one or more slots.

Slot 1: 9:00AM – 10:00AM
Please ensure you check in with Pack 142’s Popcorn Kernel, Yohanny Nguyen or Cubmaster Troy Adams when you arrive and when you depart to ensure your scout receives credit for the time they have participated.
 
We do not expect every scout to attend each fundraising event. It is important we all work together to ensure each scout receives an equal opportunity to help raise funds for our pack.

Event Time: 9:00AM – 12:00PM (1 hour slots)
Event Location: ACME – Morris Plains
Dress Requirements: Scout Uniform
 
Why should a scout sell popcorn?
1. To support scouting. 70% of the money collected goes straight to local scouting.
2. To earn money for your scout account with the pack to help make scouting more affordable for your family.
3. To win GREAT PRIZES.

Prizes? What Prizes?
1. All scouts who participate in sales will earn a 2016 Popcorn Super Hero patch.
2. Scouts selling $125 or more will win a prize from CampMasters.
3. Scouts selling $750 or more, get all of the above, AND they join the $750 Clubwinning an additional prize and $25 scout bucks.
4. Scouts selling $1500 or more, get all of the above, AND a High Achiever Prizefrom CampMasters.
5. Scouts selling $1600 or more, get all of the above, AND a Free Week of Summer Camp at any of the PPC owned camps.
6. If your scout is one of the TOP 100 sellers in all of PPC, he will also be eligible for special Top 100 Club offers from PPC.

Bobcat Requirement Meeting @ Littleton School

Please join Pack 142 at our Fall Bobcat Requirement meeting!

Event Date: Thursday, October 20, 2016
Event Time: 7:00PM – 8:00PM
Event Location: Littleton School
Dress Requirements: Scout Uniform

This meeting is designed for all new scouts in our Wolf, Bear, Webelo and AOL light dens! New scouts should make every effort to attend this very important meeting so that they are able to obtain the Bobcat badge.

Members of our Lion and Tiger dens are completing this requirement as part of their den meetings and do not need to attend this meeting.

The Bobcat requirements are:
1. Learn and say the Scout Oath, with help if needed.
2. Learn and say the Scout Law, with help if needed.
3. Show the Cub Scout sign. Tell what it means.
4. Show the Cub Scout handshake. Tell what it means.
5. Say the Cub Scout motto. Tell what it means.
6. Show the Cub Scout salute. Tell what it means.
7. With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide.
