Take a winter stroll through the Essex County Turtle Back Zoo this holiday season under the sparkling lights of over 50 winter and animal characters. Celebrate the season of giving by bringing donations of non-perishable food items, new toys, and gently used coats.

Pack 142 members will meet at the entrance at 6:30PM – Entry is free, but please bring a non-perishable food item, toy or gently used coat for donation.

Craig Mazur is hosting our annual "Rough Cut" in his garage on Sunday, January 7, 2018. This event is open to all participants of the Pack 142 Pinewood Derby but is by registration only.

It is necessary for ALL participants to register and submit their car to race officials prior to the race. Check in is available at the following times:

Pack 142 provides one Pinewood Derby car kit to each registered scout as part of their annual dues. Additional Pinewood Derby kits can be purchased for $5 and can be used for registration in our sibling race. If your scout has not received his Pinewood Derby car kit by Thursday, December 21, please email [email protected] or phone 973-437-6163 so that we can provide you with a kit as soon as possible.

Slot Car Racing

Cost: $10 per scout/guest child

Includes: Slot Car Racing and Pizza Dinner!

Pack 142 invites all pack members and interested guests to attend our annual slot car racing event at Zeppelin Hobbies! Scouts will race on eight lane tracks and enjoy a pizza dinner!

Please RSVP by Tuesday, January 9 as we need to provide Zeppelin Hobbies with a final count so that they can order the pizza in advance!

Zeppelin Hobbies sells supplies for the Pinewood Derby! This is a great opportunity to shop for any supplies you may need while enjoying slot car racing!

We are looking forward to welcoming new families and visitors that are interested in finding out more about Pack 142 to any of our events. You are welcome to invite any friends and families with boys that are Cub Scout age (grades K-5). Please be sure to RSVP to let us know you are coming and how many guests to expect.

If one or more friends of your Cub Scout join our pack, your Cub Scout and all new friends that they recruit will receive a “My Best Friend is a Scout” patch. Your Cub Scout will also be presented with a “Recruiter” patch.

Troop 173 would like to invite the Webelo and AOL Scouts from Pack 142 to their Troop meeting on Friday, January 12 from 7:30-9:00 at the Mt Tabor School.

Scouts should come in their Class A uniform and be with a parent.

Webelo and AOL Scouts will get a sense of what it's like to be in Boy Scouts by interacting with boys in Troop 173 as the prepare for the Klondike Derby!

This is another great opportunity attend an event with one of our two great Troops in Parsippany! We hope you are able to make it!

Leaders are working with both Troop 72 and Troop 173 to provide opportunities for Pack 142 boys to visit with both troops.
