June Pack Meeting

Please join Pack 142 at our June Pack Meeting & Flag Retirement Ceremony

Event Location: American Legion Post 155, 13 Legion Place, Whippany, NJ
Dress Requirements: Scout Uniform

Please note event location is at the American Legion Post 155 HQ – 13 Legion Place, Whippany, NJ

Highlights include:
– Flag Retirement Ceremony

– Hot dogs & Refreshments to be provided by American Legion Post 155

Pack 142 should plan on meeting at 7:00PM in full uniform. We will be participating in the American Legion Post 155 Flag Day Retirement Ceremony.

We are look forward to welcoming some new families and visitors that are interested in finding out more about Pack 142 to all of our meetings. You are welcome to invite any friends and families with boys that are Cub Scout age (grades K-5). Please be sure to RSVP to let us know you are coming and how many guests to expect.
 
If one or more friends of your Cub Scout join our pack, your Cub Scout and all new friends that they recruit will receive a “My Best Friend is a Scout” patch. Your Cub Scout will also be presented with a “Recruiter” patch.

Rain Gutter Regatta @ Glacier Hills Association

Event Location: Glacier Hills Association – 7 Forum Court, Morris Plains
Dress Requirements: Scout Uniform

Highlights include:

– Pack 142 Rain gutter Regatta
– Campfire
 
If your scout has already been provided with a boat, please ensure that you bring it to the meeting! If you didn't receive a boat kit OR if the boat is not complete, don't worry! There will be time during the meeting for your child to build a boat or finish one that isn't quite complete.
 
Important: The GHC Pool will be open to the public. We will be using the GHC facilities, but NOT the pool.

Annual Planning Meeting & BBQ

Please join us at Annual Committee Planning Meeting!

Event Location: Residence of Troy & Stephanie Adams (38 Stockton Court, Morris Plains)
 
This meeting is to plan the calendar for Pack 142 in the 2018/2019 scouting year. It is important that all committee members and interested parents attend.
 
Adult participants can bring their children if needed (there is plenty of outside space to play) and a BBQ lunch will be provided. We ask that each attendee brings a small item to contribute to the lunch.

– Possible ideas on how we can improve pack activities

Please join leaders and our pack committee members at our monthly committee meeting! This is where we work together to plan upcoming pack activities and events. We invite all parents, committee members and leaders to participate in these very important meetings!

Dress Requirements: Pack T-Shirt
Cost: $17 per person – *** Payment is required in advance. *** – Includes Ticket, food & drink and a patch for each youth!

IMPORTANT: Registration closes on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 as final numbers and full payment is due to the stadium at 9:00AM on Wednesday, July 11. Please ensure that you RSVP by midnight on Tuesday, July 10! Payment can be submitted via TroopTrack or by sending a check made out to Pack 142 to the attention of Troy Adams – 38 Stockton Court, Morris Plains, NJ 07950. Please email [email protected] to advise us if you are sending a check. Thank you!

This is a special event for Scouts and their families! The stadium are providing us with a special rate of $17 per person. Pack 142 needs to purchase the tickets in advance. Those who register and do not attend will not receive a refund. Thank you for your understanding.

IMPORTANT
Please ensure your RSVP by 9:00AM on Monday, July 16, 2018 to ensure that we have enough materials (and ice cream) for everyone.

Pack 142 invites all scouts and their families to our Ice Cream Social. We will enjoy some ice cream and fun activities!
Note: Some activities will involve water and parents may want to bring a towel to dry their children before transporting them in the car.

Food Pantry Collection @ Stop & Shop

Community Service – Food Pantry Collection

Community Service is a big part of scouting. We are all so generous during the holiday seasons, but for many people hunger is a daily problem. Food pantries are in desperate need of supplies during the summer months.

Please consider joining us on Saturday, July 21 at Stop and Shop of Morris Plains to collect food and supplies for the Parsippany Food Pantry. We are in need of four (4) scouts and two (2) adults per hour.
