Baloo Builder Pt 2 @ Mazur household
May 18 @ 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

We'll be wrapping up the Baloo Building requirement in this meeting – putting to use the woodworking skills that we learned in part 1 by building a fun project.  In this meeting, the boys will be building a ping pong ball launcher.  It will require them to: 1) follow a step by step direction set that's provided; 2) use a handsaw to cut pieces of lumber to an exact measurement, ensuring the pieces are square; 3) use a coping saw to cut a curve on one of the pieces; 3) using a hand drill, drill 2 holes in a specified spot; 4) pre-drill holes and fasten some of the pieces together with screws and install two eyelets.

I will supply the materials.  Please have the boys bring their tool boxes and what tools they have. This is a project, so the boys will need your help.

Memorial Day March @ Parsippany
May 27 @ 11:00 am – 2:30 pm

Hi all – For those participating in the Memorial Day Parade on Monday, I just wanted to clarify a few things:

– Check in time will start at 11am, at the intersection of Greenbank Road & Knoll Rd in Boonton.  (My GPS recognized this address and gave the correct directions)

– Once you check in, you will be directed to the correct location to meet up with the rest of Pack 142.

– The parade starts at noon, so definitely want to be at check-in by 11:30am to give you time to join us before we begin walking.

– Finally, please note that we can't throw candy this year; we have to hand it out.  Please bring your own candy if you wish to do so.

See you there!

Yours in scouting,

Steve | Cubmaster
