Happy Saturday!! 🙂 There will be no Den meeting in April since we have a busy schedule with the pack and I will be on a long vacation and traveling some for work.
This Den Meeting on 5/5 is an important one because we can wrap up any outstanding requirements and it will be a lot of fun. I reserved the council fire ring site for the afternoon starting at 2PM at Maholn Dickerson reservarion. Its a big site in the woods with a large fire ring located near the tenting campground parking lot. We will be building a fire, cooking food (tin foil meals, snacks and desserts), looking for wildlife, using a compass, learning survival skills and learning more about nature. Friends and family welcome please RSVP so we have enough food.
***If your son has not received the "cast iron chef" please email me or call to discuss the menu he would like to plan and why he chooses it. It should be a balanced meal but doesn't have to be super healthy lol. The cast iron chef is a core requirement to rank up so please attend the meeting if at ALL possible!
At this meeting we will also be completing the Webelos/AOL Elective Adventure: "Castaway"so everyone will rank up if they complete iron chef, have done their webelos walk about hike, and attends a make up meeting for "stronger faster higher" requirement… time and date for make up to follow soon. .** If you have not completed the webelos walk about hike please email me the completion of this requirement (when, where, length of hike and requirements completed).
**Everyone should rank up before our June pack meeting. I will award the badges at this June Pack meeting OR our own den meeting that would be celebratory and fun for the kids. Based on the multiple opportunities to complete these requirements I see no reason why we can not have EVERYONE ranked up in June. Great work everyone!!!
**PS Stephanie Lynch told me our den did a GREAT job at the last pack meeting for the shelter poster etc. She said webelos displayed leadership skills and team work. Looks like scouting along with great parenting is working out wonderfully. Thank you all for your support in developing the scouts morals and values.
